Summer Crocs Are Here
It's time for summer Crocs!
Now that summer is upon us, it's time to put away your Crocs for cold weather and get yourself some Crocs for the hot weather. And what a choice there is this season! We have the Olivia crocs that were SO popular last year, plus some new styles like ABF (Almost Barefoot) and Hanalei. The ABF crocs are a flip-flop design, and the Hanalei are a really feminine wedge-platform style. And not forgetting Farrah and Sassari which also have a gorgeous feminine design.
There is so much choice, with tons of flip-flop Crocs designs and other girly, sophisticated styles.
What to do with your old Crocs
They've served you well, these faithful friends. But the day must come to let them go.
Goodbye, dear Crocs.
Oh yes, the time must come when your favourite pair of Crocs just wear out. It's inevitable. You've been with them through thick and thin, and the years will take their toll. But what do you do with these old Crocs?
They're not plastic, they're not rubber. There's no major dedicated facility in the UK to recycle the croslite to go into the production of recycled shoes yet either. So where do we go from here? While Crocs aren't made of rubber, they certainly replicate it enough to be used in all sorts of different ways.
Grown ups! Have at your old Crocs with scissors! Well, in a controlled manner of course.
Cutting out various shapes can make fun, chunky ink stamps for kids. This is a great idea, as everything you need is right there. You can cut shapes from the uppers such as stars, the moon, love hearts... anything that's a simple shape.
Place them in warm water to soften them up, then leave them to press flat under some heavy books. Cut the sole into blocks, and glue them to your flattened shapes. Children love to play with stamps, and will have a great time having fun with shapes and paints.
If you can't bring yourself to cut your Crocs to pieces, you can use them for the garden. Well, yes, you can use them in the garden as shoes, but that's not what I meant. By hanging them up, these actually make rather effective planters. Or you can keep them suspended as handy holders for gardening tools!
Not rakes or shovels obviously. I meant hand tools...
Your Crocs just keep on keeping on, don't they? In one form or another.
