Where did Crocs come from? Seriously?

These peculiarly plastic-looking, brightly coloured creations bounded into the world in 2002 like enthusiastic puppies. Intended as a functional boating shoe, with their non-marking and slip resistant sole, Crocs became a phenomenon. People picked up on these benefits, as well as healthy effects of Crocs' trademarked croslite material.

The US was the first country to be seduced by the “marshmallowness” of the Croc. Sufferers of skin complaints began to find relief in the anti-microbial shoes. Workers in warm conditions were rewarded with cooled feet. Vegans didn't have to shop around endlessly for shoes that were ethically produced and still comfortable.
